This feature allows you to clone an existing cPanel language, creating a copy on your server. This is useful if you want to create your own language file, as it will allow you to edit a language file without destroying the original.
Please see our documentation about cPanel language files for more information.
To clone a language:
- Select the language to clone from the Language pull-down menu.
- Select the file to clone from the File/Theme pull-down menu.
- Root, Addons, & All Themes clones all of the language’s files.
- Root Language File clones the file that supplies wording for your cPanel interface when a needed term in the interface is missing from the primary language files.
- x (available for English only) clones the deprecated x theme’s language file.
- x3 clones the x3 language file.
- x3mail clones the x3mail language file.
- If you have a custom cPanel theme, you can select it here to clone its language file.
- Language files for custom themes reside on your server in the directory
/usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/$themename/lang/ (where $themename is replaced by the name of the custom theme).
- Click Go.
- WHM will display a new page.
- In the Target (new) Language box, enter a unique filename for the new language file.
- In the Target (new) Charset box, select the character set in which you would like to save the language.
- Click Copy/Clone. WHM will create the new language file.
You may now download the language file for editing.
