Install a SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain
For WHM version 11.28
When you use this feature, WHM will automatically install your SSL certificate and private key in the correct directories. You may either paste the certificate and key into the fields on the screen yourself, or allow WHM to retrieve them.
It is very important that your SSL certificate and private key reside in the correct directories because if they do not, your server will remain unauthenticated, leaving your visitors at risk.
Note: In order to use install an SSL certificate, you must have a dedicated IP address. A dedicated IP address is an unshared IP address, only used by your domain.
To install the certificate and private key:
- Paste the certificate into the top field.
- You may also use the Fetch button if you would like WHM to fill in this information for you.

- Paste the private key into the middle field.
- You may also use the Fetch button if you would like WHM to fill in the key field for you.

- If you have pasted the information into the fields mentioned above, you will need to specify the domain to which this key will apply by filling in the Domain field.
- Fill in the User and IP Address fields above the Key field.
- Paste the CA bundle (if you have one) into the bottom field.
- A CA bundle is a group of SSL certificates.
- This field is optional.
- Click Submit at the top of the screen.
- You may clear all of the fields below by clicking the Reset button.
If the installation is successful, WHM will display a message stating that the certificate was installed.
