PHP Major Version

This part of the interface allows you to select which major version of PHP you would like to use with this profile.

By default, you are offered 2 options. They are:

• PHP 4 — This version of PHP is only recommended if you plan to use applications that require PHP 4. Do not use this version of PHP if you have opted to use Apache 2.0 or 2.2.
• PHP 5 — This version is currently recommended by the PHP project and includes improvements in security and performance.

To select a version of PHP:

1. Click the checkbox next to the version of PHP you would like to use with this profile.
2. Click Next Step.

You may choose to select both versions of PHP to use with your EasyApache profile. While giving your customers greater flexibility on the whole, opting to use both PHP versions may make it more difficult for you to manage the server.
