EasyApache Deflate Module

mod_deflate is available for Apache 2.x. (Apache 1.3 uses mod_gzip for similar functionality.)

Important facts:

• Currently, cPanel & WHM does not globally configure mod_deflate automatically. Even if the module is available on the server, it doesn't do anything by default.
• Users can enable compression via the Optimize Website screen in cPanel, if the server owner has made the module available.
• To monitor whether and how it's working: compare the bytes transferred with it off and on.
