Addon Domains

When allowed by your web host, you can create addon domains. This means you can set up a new domain name that redirects to a subdirectory of your home directory.

Creating an addon domain lets you control multiple domains from a single account.

note Note: Addon domains, unlike subdomains, must be registered with a domain name registrar before they will work. Also, the the addon domain's nameservers must be configured properly.

Creating an addon domain

When you create an addon domain, Enkompass defaults to placing its subdirectory inside your public_html folder. However, you can edit the Document Root field to place the subdirectory outside the public_html folder but inside your home directory.

Redirecting to a specific file

You can specify a file to which you wish the addon domain to direct visitors. To do this, click the Redirect link in the Modify Addon Domain table.

Deleting an addon domain

You can stop an addon domain from redirecting visitors to its specified directory. To do so, click Delete in the Modify Addon Domain table.

note Note: Deleting the addon domain from the table will not erase any files or directories from the server. It merely prevents visitors from being redirected to the addon domain's subdirectory.
