The Getting Started Wizard

The Getting Started Wizard can help you set up your Enkompass account.

If the start-up wizard is not presented on the first login, you can access it by clicking the Getting Started Wizard icon in the Preferences area of the Enkompass interface.

If you know the screen you would like to access in the Getting Started Wizard, select it from the Jump to Section drop-down menu at the upper right.

Language

This feature defines the default display language of the Enkompass interface.

  • If you do not wish to choose a language, click Skip this Step.

Introduction to Web Hosting

This and subsequent screens contain information and set-up help on an array of topics, including the disk directories, getting files to your website, and email access. If this is your first website, we strongly recommend reading through these pages to gain a better understanding of website management.

How Your Site Works

This screen contains essential information about the way your site's files are organized.

Getting Files to Your Site

The screen tells you how to upload files to your website.

New Email Account Setup

This feature allows you to set up new email accounts.

When creating a new email address, don’t forget to set the domain with the pull-down menu, to the right of the Email text field.

Important notes about choosing a password:

  • Your password must contain at least 8 characters, including letters, at least 1 number and at least 1 symbol.
  • You may only use symbols on the number row of your keyboard. Question marks (?), commas (,), periods (.), semicolons (;), and colons (:) are not permitted.
  • A strong password will help protect your account from malicious users.

Set Default Address

This address will receive any mail sent to an invalid email address for the current domain. The default address is also commonly called a “catch-all address.”

Note: If your domain is targeted by spammers, forwarding mail to a default address is likely to yield a large amount of spam.

Web Mail

Webmail allows you to access your email accounts through a web browser such as Internet Explorer® or Firefox®. The main advantage to checking your email via the web, rather than an email application on your computer, is that you can easily access your email account from any computer with an Internet connection and a web browser.

To set up a shortcut to your Enkompass webmail interface, click and drag the Access Web Site Owner's Web Mail link to your desktop or browser toolbar.

When you click the link in the future, your email account will be opened through your browser. The webmail client will allow you to retrieve all read and unread messages associated with your email account.

Contact Information and Preferences

Enkompass will send email messages to notify you of status changes and problems. Use this page to enter the email address that Enkompass will use. It is recommended that you use an email address that is not hosted on your website server.

Change Style

cPanel offers several styles (also known as "skins") for you to choose from, including a style optimized for mobile web browsers.

Once you have finished setting up your Enkompass account, click the Home button at the upper left corner of the screen to return to the home screen and begin using your account.
