User Backups

This page allows you to generate backups of your WSO account. This includes the contents of your home directory, your databases, database user information, email accounts, and any emails you have not deleted from your mail server.

The backup will be generated and stored in your home directory as a .zip file. Use the File Manager or FTP to copy this ZIP file to another computer for safekeeping.

Generating a backup

You can manually create a backup of your site's files at any time by clicking the Generate Backup button.

Restoring your account's information from a backup

Once you've generated a backup, you will see it listed in the Restore User Backups table. You can also scroll through backups by month when you click Previous Month and Next Month.

You will need to select one of the following 3 parts of your site to restore:

  • Account — The contents of your home directory. This includes all settings from your Preferences, Domains, Security, FTP Accounts, and Advanced Enkompass features.
  • DataBases — Your databases, settings, and database user information.
  • Emails — Your email settings, messages, and associated files that reside on the server.

Upload user backups

Use this feature if you store your backups somewhere besides your server, since the backup file must be uploaded before you can use it to restore your site. The backup should be a .zip file, no less than 0.2 GB in size.
