These help files describe the Enkompass website owner (WSO) interface. They provide basic information about running a website with Enkompass.

Website Owner (WSO) Glossary — This glossary contains terms website owners will need to know to host a website.

Preferences

Documents in this section contain information about the features found in the Preferences section of your WSO interface.

  • Getting Started Wizard — The Getting Started Wizard can help you configure some basic settings for your website.
  • Change User Password — You can change your WSO account's password using the Change User Password feature.
  • Update Contact Info — The Update Contact Info interface allows you to specify how you would like to be contacted.
  • Change Style — You can change the appearance of your WSO interface here.
  • Change Language — If English is not your native language, you can change the language in which your WSO interface appears using the Change Language feature.
  • Branding Editor — You can edit the appearance of your WSO interface using our Branding Editor.
  • Shortcuts — Use this feature to create a shortcut for your web browser or computer to access your WSO account.

Mail

Documents in this section contain information about the features found in the Mail section of your WSO interface.

  • Email Accounts — This feature allows you to create and manage email accounts associated with your website.
  • Log into Webmail — You can access your email via any web browser using webmail.
  • Mail Forwarders — Mail forwarders allow you to forward incoming email from one address to another. This can be useful if you host multiple websites and wish to receive email from all of your sites at a single address.
  • Auto Responders — You can set up auto responders using this interface. Auto responders respond automatically with a predetermined message whenever incoming email is received.
  • Default Address — This feature allows you to configure your default email address. The default address is a catch-all address that receives messages sent to email accounts which do not exist at your domain.
  • Mailing Lists — You can using this feature to configure mailing lists. Mailing lists allow you to send email to multiple accounts using a single address.
  • MX Entry — You can use this feature to set up an MX entry. MX (mail exchanger) entries serve as virtual traffic directors, sending incoming mail to the appropriate server.
  • Submit a Support Request — If you are having trouble, you can submit a support request to your web host using this feature.

Logs

This section contains information about the Logs section of your WSO interface.

  • Latest Visitors — You can find information about the latest visitors to your website with this feature.

Files

Documents in this section contain information about the features found in the Files section of your WSO interface.

  • Restore System Backups — If you have encountered a problem, you can restore your website using our restore System Backups interface.
  • User Backups — This feature allows you to create backups of your website and WSO account.
  • File Manager — Enkompass' File Manager allows you to upload and manage files associated with your website.
  • Disk Space Usage — This feature shows you information about the available free space for your website
  • FTP Accounts — You can manage your FTP accounts using this feature.

Domains

Documents in this section contain information about the features found in the Domains section of your WSO interface.

  • Sub Domains — You can add and manage subdomains using this feature.
  • Addon Domains — This feature allows you to add and manage addon domains.
  • Parked Domains — You can park domains and manage existing parked domains using this feature.
  • Redirect — Here, you can learn how to set up a redirect. Redirects allow you to direct traffic bound for one domain to another domain.

Databases

Documents in this section contain information about the features found in the Databases section of your WSO interface.

  • Database Manager — You can add and manage databases and database users using Enkompass' Database Manager feature.

Security

Documents in this section contain information about the features found in the Security section of your WSO interface.

  • Password Protect Directories — This feature allows you to password protect specific directories.
  • IP Deny Manager — You can prevent certain IP addresses and hostnames from accessing your website using this feature.
  • Certificate Manager — You can add and manage existing security certificates using this feature.
  • Certificate Wizard — This wizard can help you add a security certificate for your website. This feature is especially useful for users who are new to SSL/TLS.

Advanced

Documents in this section contain information about the features found in the Advanced section of your WSO interface.

  • MIME Types — MIME types relay information to the browser about how to handle file extensions. You can use this feature to specify how certain file extensions should be handled on your website.
  • Error Pages — You can configure your error pages here.
  • Directory Browsing — This feature allows you to specify how your website will behave whenever a visitor accesses a directory, rather than a webpage on your site.
  • Reseller Interface — This interface is only available to resellers. Resellers can use this interface to manage their WSO accounts they own.
  • Network Tools — You can use this feature to obtain information about your network.
  • Restart Websites — You can use this feature to restart your website. This feature is useful in the event that your website encounters problems, or you install features that require a website restart before they will take effect.
