Apache Configuration

For WHM version 11.30

This collection of features allows you to configure Apache. Apache functions as your web server software, handling HTTP requests.

  • Global Configuration — This feature allows you to adjust several advanced features of the Apache web server.
  • Configure PHP and suEXEC — This feature allows you to change Apache’s PHP handlers configuration, PHP version, and enable or disable the suEXEC program.
  • DirectoryIndex Priority — You can use the DirectoryIndex Priority feature to specify filenames that Apache will recognize, and display, as index pages.
  • Include Editor — This feature allows you to add other configuration files to your Apache configuration file ( httpd.conf). This can be useful in “teaching” Apache how to handle new types of files and changing default Apache configurations globally or between virtual hosts.
  • Reserved IPs Editor — Using this feature, you are able to configure Apache to ignore HTTP requests on certain IP addresses by reserving them. This feature is useful if you wish to prevent new accounts from being assigned to certain IP addresses.
  • Memory Usage Restrictions — This feature will limit Apache’s memory consumption by examining its usage history. The feature limits each Apache process and not all Apache processes combined. Using this feature will increase your server’s stability but may result in a slight loss of performance.
  • Log Rotation — This feature allows you to decide which Apache log files should be manipulated by cPanel’s cpanellogd daemon.
  • Piped Log Configuration — This feature lets you pipe Apache access logs to a separate process, so that Apache does not need to restart every time the logs are processed.
