DNS Settings
For WHM version 11.38
These settings allow you to enable DKIM and SPF records. You can also configure which nameservers will be used for the new account’s domain.
Enabling DKIM or SPF email authentication settings
To enable DKIM and SPF email authentication on this account, click the corresponding checkboxes.
- SPF uses a default record of
v=spf1 +a +mx +ip4:$mainip (where your IPv4 address will replace $mainip). For more information on SPF records, visit http://www.openspf.net/SPF_Record_Syntax.
- Adding a custom SPF record to the appropriate DNS zone template will override the Enable SPF on this account setting.
- The settings on the Create a New Account screen override the server-wide Tweak Settings options for DKIM and SPF.
Nameserver settings
Nameservers are very important because they allow visitors to find the domain on the Internet. You can choose whether to use your local nameservers or to overwrite
DNS zones.
You should click the
Use the nameservers specified at the Domain’s Registrar option if the nameservers for this account will be hosted on a different server. This will allow the new account’s domain to begin the
propagation process.
Note: The nameservers selected for the domain will appear in the
Nameservers list below.
Clicking the
Overwrite any existing DNS zones for the account option will check for potentially conflicting
DNS zones. If a conflict is found, the program will not shut down in error, but rather overwrite the existing
DNS zone, so that the new account’s domain can begin the
propagation process.
Next, proceed to the
Mail Routing Settings section.
