| Configuration Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Protocols Enabled | You may click the checkboxes to enable standard IMAP, secure IMAP, standard POP3, and secure POP3 respectively. |
| Maximum IMAP Connections (Total) | Defines the maximum total number of IMAP connections possible at a time. |
| Maximum IMAP Connections per IP | Defines the maximum number of IMAP connections available to the mail server for 1 IP address. This number is used when standard IMAP is used. |
| Maximum TLS/SSL IMAP Connections per IP | Defines the maximum number of secure IMAPS connections available to the mail server for 1 IP address. This number is used when IMAPS is used. |
| IMAP TLS/SSL Protocol | Defines what TLS or SSL protocols can be used for a secure IMAPS connection. For more about TLS/SSL, see our documentation below. |
| IMAP TLS/SSL Cipher List | The list of ciphers, in standard format, which will be allowed to connect to your server using the IMAP protocol. For more information on ciphers, see OpenSSL's documentation. |
| Maximum POP3 Connections (Total) | Defines the maximum number of simultaneous POP3 connections. |
| Maximum POP3 Connections Per IP | Defines the maximum number of simultaneous POP3 connections available to the mail server for 1 IP address. This number is used when standard POP3 is used. |
| Maximum TLS/SSL POP3 Connections Per IP | Defines the maximum number of simultaneous POP3S connections available to the mail server for 1 IP address. This number is used when POP3S is used. |
| POP3 TLS/SSL Protocol | Defines what TLS or SSL protocols can be used for a secure POP3S connection. For more information about TLS/SSL, see our documentation below. |
| POP3 TLS/SSL Cipher List | The list of ciphers, in standard format, which will be allowed to connect to your server using the POP3 protocol. For more information on ciphers, see OpenSSL's documentation. |
| *Number of Authentication Daemons | Defines the maximum number of authentication daemons that can run simultaneously. Consider the needs of your mail server before entering a value other than the default value. Too many authentication daemons can cause your server to run slowly due to its system resources being consumed by these authentication daemons. Too few authentication daemons can cause your server to run slowly due to a lack of daemons to authenticate each session, thereby forming a queue. |
