Manage Reseller's IP Delegation

Overview

System administrators can use the Manage Reseller's IP Delegation feature to control a reseller's access to the IP addresses on the server.

Open Delegation

Note: Open Delegation is selected by default.

This option gives a reseller access to all of the available IP addresses on the server.

To allow a reseller access to the available IP addresses on the server:

1. Select a reseller from the menu.
2. Click Submit. You will be taken to a new screen.
3. Click Open Delegation.
4. Click Save. You will be taken to a new screen.
   • If you are successful, you will see the following message (where john is the user): The reseller "john" now has access to any free IPs on the server.

Restricted Delegation

This option restricts a reseller to specific IP addresses on the server. When a reseller has restricted access to certain IP addresses, the selected IP addresses are delegated to that reseller.

To restrict a reseller access to specific IP address or addresses on the server:

1. Select a reseller from the menu.
2. Click Submit. You will be taken to a new screen.
3. Click Restricted Delegation.
4. A list will appear below the option. Click the IP address or addresses that you wish the reseller to use.
5. Click Save. You will be taken to a new screen.
   • If you are successful, you will see the following message (where john is the user):

Notes

• Under the Restricted Delegation section, the interface labels the delegated and dedicated IP addresses. An IP address can be delegated to multiple resellers, but an IP address can be dedicated to only one user.

• System administrators who wish to change the IP address for an existing account can review our documentation about how to change a site's IP address.

• A reseller with open delegation indicates that the particular reseller has been delegated all of the IP addresses on the server.
