Reset Local MySQL Root Password
For WHM version 11.32
Using the
MySQL Root Password feature, you can reset your local MySQL root password in the event that it is lost or compromised.
Warning: This feature will result in a brief security risk to your server and an interruption of MySQL service; therefore, it should only be used as a last resort during times of low traffic, when you encounter a file permissions error using the
MySQL Root Password feature.
To reset the password:
- Enter the new desired password into the Password field.
- You may also use the Password Generator by clicking Generate Password.
- Remember to use a very secure password.
- Do not use asterisks (
*), periods (.), or any other special characters in your MySQL root password. If you do so, phpMyAdmin will not function. If you are using the Password Generator, you may wish to uncheck the Symbols checkbox.
- Enter the password again in the Password Again field.
- Click Change Password.
