Reset Resellers

For WHM version 11.32

This feature allows you to apply Account Creation Limits (ACLs) to resellers, or reset package permissions. In addition, the Reset Resellers interface can be used to fix incorrect reseller package permissions.

An ACL is a set of features — such as the ability to create subordinate cPanel accounts or install an SSL certificate — to which you grant resellers access. You can configure ACL lists using the Edit Privileges/Nameservers feature in the Reseller Center.

To apply an existing ACL list to multiple resellers:

  1. Click Reset Resellers on the Reseller Center page.
  2. Select the ACL you wish to apply from the pull-down menu.
  3. Select a user/domain from the list on the left, under To these Resellers: by clicking its corresponding checkbox.
    • You can select multiple resellers.
  4. Click the Apply button.

A package is a set of limits which you place on reseller accounts. Settings included in each package are:

  • Disk space quota (in MB)
  • Bandwidth limit (in MB)
  • The maximum number of FTP accounts
  • The maximum number of email accounts
  • The maximum number of mailing lists
  • The maximum number of SQL databases
  • The maximum number of subdomains
  • The maximum number of parked domains
  • The maximum number of addon domains
  • Whether the account will be assigned a dedicated IP
  • Whether the user will be allowed to access the account via SSH (“shell access”)
  • Whether the account will be able to use FrontPage® extensions
  • Whether the user will be able to execute CGI scripts
  • The cPanel theme that will be used by the account
  • The language that will be used by the account
  • Whether the account will be given reseller status
  • Whether the account will use its registrar’s nameservers and ignore locally specified nameservers
  • Whether to overwrite existing DNS zones for this account

To reset package permissions to the default:

  1. Click Reset Resellers on the Reseller Center page.
  2. Select the user/domain from the list on the right by clicking the corresponding checkbox.
  3. Click Reset.

Account permissions can be modified in detail under WHM’s Modify an Account feature.

note Note: Clicking Reset here does not change any package features currently being used by the reseller; it simply limits the features they can use from now on. For example, if the reseller has already installed SQL databases, they will not be removed by this feature. However, if the reseller has not yet installed SQL databases, and the package is changed to disallow SQL databases, he will no longer be able to install them.
