Resolver Configuration
For WHM version 11.32
This feature allows you access to a configuration wizard for editing the
/etc/resolv.conf file. This file will contain the names of the nameservers that your server will query in order to convert, or “resolve,” domain names into IP addresses.
- Click Proceed to continue to the next page.
This page allows you to enter 2 or 3 resolvers for your server to use. Your server will require at least 2
resolver IP addresses; the third (tertiary) address is optional. You should be able to obtain
resolver IP addresses from your
data center.
Important: If these resolvers are misconfigured, your server will not function properly as, ultimately, it will not be connected to the Internet.
To enter and configure your resolvers:
- Type 2 IP addresses into the Primary and Secondary Resolver fields.
Note: Your resolver IP addresses should be provided by your data center.
- Enter a third resolver IP address if you have one.
- Click Continue.
- If you are having difficulty connecting to the Internet even after configuring your resolvers, you should check
/etc/resolv.conf to ensure that it is properly configured.
