For cPanel & WHM 11.46

(Home >> Backup >> Backup Configuration)

Overview

The backups feature has been updated and is now the Backup Configuration feature. This interface has several options that give system administrators the opportunity to customize the backup configuration.

  • The Backup Configuration feature is designed to encourage a safe and smooth transition away from the Legacy Backup Configuration feature.
  • Future enhancements to backups will only be made to the Backup Configuration feature.
  • The Legacy Backup Configuration will eventually be removed.
  • We strongly recommend that you enable the Backup Configuration feature.
  • After you have ensured that the Backup Configuration feature meets your needs, we strongly recommend that you disable the Legacy Backup Configuration feature (Home >> Backup >> Legacy Backup Configuration).

Note:

By default, the Legacy Backup Configuration continues to run when you upgrade to WHM version 11.38. However, you need to enable and configure the Backup Configuration feature.

How to enable the Backup Configuration feature

Two steps are required to run the Backup Configuration feature. To enable and run backups, you must complete both of the following steps:

  1. Enable the Backup Configuration feature, and configure your backups. For more information, read our Backup Configuration documentation.
  2. Use the Backup User Selection feature (Home >> Backup >> Backup User Selection) to enable each user you want to back up with the Backup Configuration.
    • To enable or disable the Backup Configuration for all users, use the checkbox on the top right of the Backup User Selection page.
