Overview

The Calendar and Contacts Server (CCS) plugin allows your cPanel users to manage their CalDAV (calendar) and CardDAV (contacts) accounts from your cPanel & WHM server.

When you install this plugin, CCS becomes the main calendar and contacts tool. Your server keeps the information available in Horde. However, cPanel account and Webmail users will no longer be able to connect to the Horde calendar or address book.

Warning:
  • This plugin is compatible with the CentOS 7, CloudLinux™ 7 and 8, AlmaLinux OS 8, and Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 7 operating systems.

  • This plugin is not compatible with the CloudLinux 6, Amazon Linux, or Ubuntu® operating systems.

  • This plugin requires PostgreSQL®. If you remove PostgreSQL, you will also remove CCS.

  • This plugin does not support Horde’s shared address book.

Install the Calendar and Contacts Server plugin

To install the CCS plugin, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to WHM’s Manage Plugins interface (WHM » Home » cPanel » Manage Plugins).

  2. Click Install “Calendar and Contacts Server”. A success message will appear when the installation process completes.

Your cPanel users can now connect CCS to Roundcube, Horde, or other applications. For more information, read our How to Set Up Calendars and Contacts and Calendar Delegation documentation. Enter port 2079 or 2080 when you set up the server name and port.

Important:

After installing CCS, the server will import data from Horde in to the plugin. However, any data or events created through Roundcube will not be visible. When you remove the CCS plugin, Roundcube data will be visible again.

Note:

As a system administrator, you can directly access CCS data through ports 2079 and 2080. You can also manage CCS data through Horde, Roundcube, or other applications.

Uninstall the Calendar and Contacts Server plugin

To uninstall the CCS plugin, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to WHM’s Manage Plugins interface (WHM » Home » cPanel » Manage Plugins).

  2. Click Uninstall “Calendar and Contacts Server”. A success message will appear when the uninstallation process completes.

Warning:

The system erases all CCS data when you uninstall the CCS plugin.

Z-Push - ActiveSync Support

Warning:
  • You must install the CCS plugin for this plugin to work. You must also keep the CCS plugin installed for this plugin to keep working.

  • You must use a feature list with the Calendars and Contacts and Exchange ActiveSync features enabled. You can enable these features in a feature list using WHM’s Feature Manager interface (WHM » Home » Packages » Feature Manager).

  • This plugin requires a minimum of 7 GB of RAM and 4 CPU cores.

  • This plugin is unable to support Calendar Delegation.

We offer Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) support for CCS through the bundled Z-Push - ActiveSync Support plugin. Z-Push is an implementation of the EAS protocol. It allows synchronization of calendars, contacts, and email on Android™ devices. This additional plugin automatically installs when you install the CCS plugin. You will only see this plugin if you have installed CCS.

Once you install this plugin, your cPanel users can set up their calendars, contacts, and email on their Android devices using EAS. For more information, read our How to Sync Calendars, Contacts, and Email on Android™ Devices documentation.

The logs for the Z-Push - ActiveSync Support plugin rotate on a regular basis if they grow excessively large. For more information about Z-Push log files, read our The cPanel & WHM Log Files documentation.

If you do not need ActiveSync support for CCS, you can uninstall Z-Push while leaving CCS installed.

Uninstall the Z-Push - ActiveSync Support plugin

To uninstall the Z-Push - ActiveSync Support plugin, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to WHM’s Manage Plugins interface (WHM » Home » cPanel » Manage Plugins).

  2. Click Uninstall “Z-Push - ActiveSync Support”. A success message will appear when the uninstallation process completes.
