Managing Email Accounts

Overview
Create, view, and manage email accounts for the domains on your cPanel account. You can change an account’s password, edit its quota, and suspend, unsuspend, or delete the account. You can also add or delete forwarders, autoresponders, and filters; access Webmail; and configure account settings.
Creating an email account
To create a new email account, perform the following steps:
- Click New email account.
- Enter the username in the Email Address text box.
- Choose one of the following options to set the account password:
- To set the password yourself, select Set Password and enter the desired password in the Password text box.
- To let the system generate a password, select Set Password, then select Generate.
- To allow the user to set the password, click Send Login Link and enter an alternate email address for the user in the Recovery Email text box.
- Select a storage limit for the account in the Storage Quota menu, or select Unlimited for no storage limit.
- To send an email with the account login information, select Send welcome email with login details.
- Click Create Account.
Viewing your email accounts
You can view information about your existing email accounts on the main interface of the Email hub. You will see the total number of accounts, the amount of disk space that the accounts use, and the number of forwarders and autoresponders.
You will also see a list of your email accounts, along with each account’s used and available disk space, and the account’s active or inactive status. To filter this list and display only accounts that match certain criteria, select either the Suspended, Has forwarders, Has autoresponders, or Near quota tabs.
To search for a specific email account, enter the matching text in the Search accounts… text box.
Managing an email account
To manage an email account, click Manage in the row for that account. Then, select the tab for the action you want to perform.
- To display the email address, domain, used and available storage space, and status for the account, click Overview.
Note:This is the default tab that appears when you click Manage.
- To add or delete an email forwarder, click Forwarders.
- To add or delete an autoresponder, click Autoresponder.
- To add or delete an email filter, click Filters.
- To update settings for the account, click Settings.
To access Webmail for the account, click Open Webmail.
Updating an account’s settings
In the Settings tab, you can suspend or unsuspend an account, set or unset plus addressing for it, edit its storage quota, change its password, or delete the account.
- To suspend or unsuspend the account, set or unset the Account Status toggle.
- To set or unset plus addressing, set or unset the Plus Addressing toggle.
- To update the email account’s quota, click Edit Quota. Then, enter a value for the quota or select Unlimited to remove the quota, and click Save.
- To change the account’s password, click Change Password. Enter or generate a new password, then click Update Password.
- To delete the account, click Delete Account, then click Delete account to confirm the deletion.
Warning:
Deleting an account removes all its emails and data, and you cannot undo this action.
You can also change the account’s password, edit its quota, or delete the account by clicking the edit icon () in the Email hub, then selecting the desired option.
